She's The Man

She's the Man is a PG 13 movie. But since I am older than 13 I figure it's OK to post some teen movies as well. She's the Man is about Viola and her twin brother. When her brother sneaks out to London he asks her to call the school and get him excused. (They go to different schools, the brother is in boarding high school or something) But when Viola's school cuts the soccer program for girls, she wants on the boys' team but they don't let her. So Viola goes to her brother's school posing as her brother so she can play on the boys' soccer team and beat her school. (Her school starts 2 weeks later than her brother's school.)

This movie was SOOOO funny. Amanda Bines was perfect! It is the perfect Teen movie! EVERY teen will love this movie. It is sooo funny, and they story line was put together very creatively and it was Flawless. If you are a teen and you love funny comedies, or you aren't a teen and love comedies go see this one. I would recommend this movie for anybody 10 and older despite the rating. Right NOW!! Come on what are you waiting for. Grab some friends and go!

Ice Age 2

OK here is the new Ice Age movie everybody has been waiting for!
This is the sequel to Ice Age (obviously) and follows the Mammoth and the Sloth and the Lion. They are told the land they are living with is going to overflow with water and have to get to the boat as fast as they can. On their way to the boat they finally meet another mammoth besides Manny. And as always the acorn-searching squirrel-like creature is always popping up and doing something acorn related.

I was a little disappointed with this movie. The plot was simple and a little boring. But the crazy girl mammoth was funny, but hardly believable. And the squirrel wasn't nearly as funny as it was in the first one. But this is usually the case when they make sequels to movies. But don't get me wrong, I don't mean to be negative, it was worth seeing. But I do not think it is worth owning. I would recommend this to kids 6/7 or older. Have fun at the movies.

I'm Back

Sorry for my negligence! I have been really busy, but I will try to catch you up on my movie seeing. I have seen quite a few so hold on.

Hoodwinked- A very funny movie! All kids will love this one. However it is a one-time-wonder I am afraid. Once you see it you probably won't want to see it again. It is a great movie to rent but to buy--no.

Dreamer- This movie is for the whole entire family! This is a keeper. The whole family can watch it. All ages will love this one. The swearing was very low-key only one or two. I loved this one. It is a must BUY!!!

Just like Heaven- I really enjoyed this one. This movie is rated PG 13, I think. But I think girls of all ages would love this one. It is a total chick-flick but a great one at that. It also has the guy from Napoleon Dynamite in it, he was totally funny in this one.

Chronicles of Narnia The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe- I absolutely loved this movie!!! My church went to see it, and we all loved it. However the stone table scene is pretty graphic so you might want to keep smaller kids away from this one. But this movie is something you would want to buy and watch over and over again. Its coming out just in time for Easter too!!

March of The Penguins- It was an OK movie. It was a documentary so kids might get bored with this one very quick. The penguins were very cute and entertaining to watch. But I don't think this would be another one you would want to buy. I don't think you would watch this one over and over either.

Chicken Little- My little sister went to see this one with my dad. And she HATED this movie. She was bored through the whole thing and eventually asked if they could leave. But however older kids might actually like this movie. But I am not sure, I haven't seen this one for myself so you can make that decision.

Curious George-My little sister also went to go see this movie with my dad. And she LOVED this movie, she laughed the whole time and was captivated by the bright colors and wasn't bored for a second. Kids from 1-10 would love this movie if your older than 10 you might be bored.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire- I personally loved this movie! I love Harry Potter movies. But this one is a very, very dark movie. If your kids haven't read the book then you might want to steer them away from this one. It is a very dark one. But kids who have read the story and know the story line will enjoy this one thoroughly! The special effects rock, and I loved it.
Yours Mine and Ours- I really liked this movie. It is a movie the whole family can watch. It is not exactly like the Old Yours Mine and Ours, but it does a pretty good job. It has been modernized. I think every kid would love this movie. It has some very funny parts. It depends on who you are if you would want to buy this movie.
Zathura- A sequel to Jumangi and it is obvious. The story line is very similar to Jumangi (I don't know how to spell that) I think boys would like this one more than girls for obvious reasons. A lot of things get destroyed and the setting is in outerspace. This one would be a good buy. I personally liked it and think kids would enjoy it. It wasn't as scary as Jumangi.
Eight below- This movie was inspired by a true story. It was a inspiring movie, and I really liked this one. Some of the scenes are really scary and one scene in particular caught us all off guard when something popped out. It scared all the little kids and screams could be heard from all over the theater. Even my dad screamed--it was really funny. I couldn't stop laughing at him. But I think any kid would enjoy this movie. Especially dog lovers.
I figure this is enough for now. I hope to continue up on updating my blog. Sorry that I kept you waiting. See you later!

Charlie and The Chocolate Factory

Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, PG A+ I recommend this movie for kids age 7 and up (somethings could be scary for younger kids).

Most of you know the story about Willie Wonka--but in case you don't here's the lowdown. When Willie Wonka opens his factory again to five children who find the golden tickets and their chosen guardian, the whole world goes into a Wonka frenzy. The first four kids who find the tickets are a very plump boy, a spoiled girl who gets whatever she wants, a video game freak, and a champion bubble gum chewer. Charlie, a very poor boy, longs to find the last very sought after Golden Ticket. But he only gets one Wonka chocolate bar, and that's on his birthday. But his Grandpa Jo has faith that he'll find the ticket. On his way home Charlie finds a bill in the snow and buys a Wonka Bar to try his luck. And Grandpa Jo's faith paid off--Charlie found the last Golden Ticket!!! There are a lot of surprises in store for Charlie and and the others as the wonderful world of Willie Wonka unfolds around them!

I loved this remake of the classic film Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. (Note the name change!!) However it is not like the original in many ways. But the changes were done very cleverly and were very well done. Johnny Depp was a fantastic Wonka--as well as the other characters! This version shows Wonka having flashbacks to his childhood and lets us in on why he chose his profession. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory has fun, quirky, and interesting twists that will also teach you the importance of a family!!! A flick the whole family will enjoy.
This movie is a sweet treat all in its own!!!

Lemony Snickets a Series of Unfortunate Events

Lemony Snickets a Series of Unfortunate Events- PG- A very well deserved A!!
I recommend this movie for kids and adults of ANY age.

This movie is about three children- Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire who become the Baudelaire orphans. They were at Briny Beach when Mr. Poe (the person in charge of their affairs) came and told them that their parents had died in a mysterious fire that destroyed their whole entire home (more like a mansion). They are then sent to live with a relative Count Olaf(Jim Carey). He makes them do chores and every little thing that pops into his head. He plans to find a way to kill the kids and steal the enormous fortune that their parents left for the kids. They end up getting shifted around to a new guardian, but the children find out that Count Olaf is actually there with them! Still! This will happen more than once. It's up to the kids to find a way through tough times, and they somehow always do!

I thought that the movie was very well done. However there are some big changes. But since I am a very very very VERY BIG fan of the Series of Unfortunate Events books I could see how they had to tie in other parts of the story in other places because otherwise the movie wouldn't end! (I wouldn't mind that actually!!) I am now looking forward to the other movies. I give Jim Carey an "A" for playing the part of Count Olaf. He was exactly how I pictured him. Also Sunny was exactly how I thought she would act! Perfect! A film for the whole family!!!!!!
A definite buy!

Madagascar

Madagascar-PG-D+-I DONT recommend this movie!

This movie is about some animals that escape from a zoo in New York, and on their way to being relocated to a different zoo they escape and find themselves on the island of Madagascar. The animals are a medical-hazard giraffe, a full-of-himself lion, a depressed zebra, and a fashion queen hippo. However some humerous psychotic penguins escape as well. But when the animals get to Madagascar the lion can't wait to get rescued while the others are having the time of their lives. Soon after they run into leemers that think the animals are their new protectors. Then the lion goes crazy and starts imagining that his friends are his lunch.

This movie is one of the worst movies that I have seen in a very long time. However I find that younger kids seemed to have enjoyed it some. It had a barely if not any story line and way too much adult humor that kids find themselves saying "huh." I wont go see that again. I advise you not to waste your money.

Pull out the pillows and blankets folks cuz this ones a sleeper!!

Bewitched

Bewitched-PG13- I will give this remake a B (goes well with it huh)-I recommend it for any body. I don't get how it couldn't be a PG.

This is a story about a modern witch, Isabelle Bigelow (Nicole Kidman) who moves to California to live a "normal life." But it turned out that it was harder to give up her magic than she thought it would be. She lands a spot in the remake show of Bewitched when the famous Jack Wyatt (Will Ferryl) spies her wiggling her nose in a bookstore. During the remaking process Jack Wyatt thinks that he is falling for her. But when she tells him that she is a witch, he thinks that she is crazy. Then when she shows him some of her magic he is scared of her.

The movie is about people remaking the T.V. show instead of the T.V. show. I found that I was hoping for it to be more like the original. It wasn't as "Bewitching" as I thought it would be!!!
